I do all my piecing and quilting by machine, so it grows really fast. I like zingy colours and modern designs. I take part in a monthly challenge with an online group, Fast Friday Fabric Challenge.

There are some great fabrics stalls in Christchurch, selling hand-printed fat quarters, and there are a couple of annual exhibitions featuring local and visiting quilters. At the biennial quilt symposium in Christchurch in 2003 we had 32 tutors, many from Australia and the US.

Quilting is alive and well and living in New Zealand! The next symposium is April 2011 in Queenstown.
